Seek out the special hidden places!

A couple of days ago I traveled around to a few towns near me to hang signs for my upcoming women's retreat. While driving around, I really tuned in to all of the beauty that is surrounds me. There are amazing sculptures, architecture, beaches, plants, and so much more.

It's easy to pass by all of the beauty, especially when we are stuck in traffic, exhausted, frustrated, etc.

But sometimes life gets easier when we just tune in to the special places that exist right in our backyard communities! Refocusing on these little gems takes the focus off of the stress and hum-drum aspects of life.

The video below shows some of my very favorite jewels that exists around the corner here in California. Perhaps you can head out to photograph some of the things/places in your area that really call to you! I guarantee you will feel amazing when you tune in and take notice!

Expectation can set you up for disappointment

We often expect things to happen, they turn out differently, and then we feel miserable. This vicious cycle is just not necessary and completely avoidable if we open to the wonder of possibility and opportunity without attachment to the end result!

I made a video today about the beautiful soul named Peace Pilgrim. She was a little slice of heaven whose peaceful ways live beyond the years she walked on this earth.

In honor of continued learning...

Today I learned something new...

That the Mayans also had a word similar to the ones I was already familiar with such as "namaste". How beautiful that the whole world shares a similar sentiment of love and appreciation. The inflections and sounds we place on the expression changes, but the meaning is the same.

I found this on a Mayan website I visited briefly:

*In Lak’ech Ala K’in - The Living Code of the Heart - is an ancient Mayan greeting that when said with one’s hands cupped over one’s heart is an honoring of each other. In modern day interpretation it means I am another yourself, I am another you. In the traditional Mayan interpretation it means, I am you and you are me. It is a statement of unity and oneness. In Lak’ech Ala K’in mirrors the same sentiment of other beautiful and heart-felt greetings such as Namasté for East India, Wiracocha for the Inca, and Mitakuye Oyasin for the Lakota or Lakotah of North America.

Express Creativity with your Kids!

This weekend my partner's daughter came home all dressed up with her friend in full costumes and hilarious make-up! While this might make some parents crazy and immediately the mind may begin to say, "Don't get make-up all over the house...why are you so messy...don't wrinkle your clothes, etc.."

...See if you can surrender the instinct to immediately kill the fun. Discover if there is a place within you that wishes to surrender, not worry anymore, and play with your children.

Throw on some make-up. Let them do it. Who cares if you look silly?

Express, be creative, be silly, and love your family. Here is a short video about our adventures!

I had a youtube viewer write to me a couple of days ago requesting that I make a video about releasing the need to be perfect and live up to the expectations of others. This is such an important topic and one that I deeply relate to, as I have been in situations where I tried to live someone else's dream for me instead of being my own visionary.

Parasites happen...

Dear lord! And I don't mean that in a religious way! I mean, literally... "Dear lord...please get rid of the worms!"

HAHA!

Pinworms are a part of life for millions and millions of people. They are MASSIVELY common and rampant with children, who often spread it to their families (similar to lice). This video is one that explains exactly what to do if you or your family happens to pick up a case of the pinworms.

Some days, the blogs just need to be straight up health education!
